Your South Garland Boys Basketball team was well represented on the District 10-6A All-District Basketball teams, as well as the TABC All-Region team for the 2016-2017 season. Sophomores Tyrese Maxey, Chris Harris Jr., Keyon Craddock, and Khalil Davis, as well as Junior Robert McFadden, all took home honors.
In his 1st full season as a Colonel, Sophomore Tyrese Maxey was voted Offensive Player of the Year in the district after averaging 22.5 points per game. For his efforts on the entire season, Maxey also represented South Garland on the TABC All-Region Team, the first Colonel to do so in the last 10 years.
Chris Harris Jr. was voted 1st Team All-District by the coaches in District 10-6A. Harris received the second most votes of anyone on the all-district teams, making it the second year in a row the sophomore guard has been selected to the 1st team. Harris finished the season with averages of 16 Points, 4.5 Rebounds, 2 Steals and 3 Assists per game.
Sophomore guard Keyon Craddock received all-district honors for the second year in a row, voted 2nd Team All-District by the coaches of 10-6A. Craddock averaged 8 Points, 2 Steals, and 3 Assists per game for his sophomore year.
Junior Robert McFadden was voted 2nd Team All-District in his first year as a Colonel. McFadden finished his junior campaign with averages of 7 Points and 5 Rebounds per game. Look for McFadden’s role to expand as he will be one of 2 seniors on the team next season.
Khalil Davis, Honorable Mention All-District, rounded out the list of Colonels receiving all-district recognition. The sophomore forward increased his averages in scoring, rebounding and shooting percentages in his second year on varsity. Davis received Honorable Mention recognition as a freshman as well.
